thrifting thursdays…
this is my first thrifting thursday post. here are some of my finds from today…
the boots will be for sale and i will post a link whenever they’re listed
pair of vintage yellow glasses, vintage peep toe shoes IN MY SIZE and a teensy tiny pair of etienne aigner boots
vintage beach chair and a vintage coleman cooler. i wouldn’t eat ice out of it, but i’d chill my sodas in it!
vintage dolly as a coffee table
i got a steal of a deal($15) on this old wooden dolly. so much so that i bought 6! i’m using one as a coffee table and i must say, i’m in love…
what i’ve done so far…backsplash
ok, so i’ve finally gotten part of the back splash up and painted. it turned out just about how i wanted it to and i’ve spent only about $10
(we have some boards already up here. if you notice the back its this vinyl faux wood sticker or something. its awful!)
we(the husband and i) used furring board which is used as a base wood for other types of wall…like drywall, etc. it’s also 92¢ for an 8 foot board at Lowes.
then i painted it with only one coat of white paint so the wood grain and knots would show through
if you can tell in the before shot, there was weird partial shelf above the sink. the cubby part is great, but there is a huge half circle cut out in the middle. so i cut down a shelf board i already had to fit and now we have tons more display room!
i have more area to cover and some things i want to fix, clean and add, but for now this is what we have. and we only tripped the electricity with nails once. zap!
